We have a newbie on our team, iPad 2!

Apple’s iPad, hands down, has sprung into the world of technology very quickly. People often refer to the device as “The device professional’s didn’t know they needed.” Here at Macro Design Group we didn’t think we needed it either.

But in the fast paced city of New York we finally felt the iPad 2 had a place at our design company.

• Portfolio – Rather then needing a notebook computer to show our work to clients, the iPad 2 has been an amazing enhancement. We tested several Apps and have found that Portfolio for iPad was perfect for showing off our work and reviewing existing work through our project design stages.

• Traveling – We all know that this involves a lot of packing, the 1.3 lbs helps keep it light, especially when traveling to the other side of the country.

• Presentations – HDMI or VGA output ability helps us custom design a presentation for just about any TV or projector environment.

• Business – Various Apps like Mail, Safari, & Twitter help keep us in the loop with our clients. Google Apps also integrates seamlessly through Exchange so all contacts and calendars are always in sync with all our devices.

Do we recommend it? Yes

Does every company need one? No

The deciding factor for our company was the integration with our business. Our CRM, Bookkeeping, and Exchange synchronization made the decision that much easier.

Plus, most of our company runs off of OS X.
